포토그래퍼 강진주는 2008년 이후 '순환'(서클)이라는 주제를 가지고 연작시리즈를 연구 중 이다. 그의 사진은 역사를 담고 있는 피사체(대상)와 그 피사체를 투영하는 사현대적으로 보여주고 있다. 강진주의 피사체들이 담고 있는 '역사'는 “사진”이라는 기술을 통해, 다양한 매개체를 통하여 표현된다. 작품으로 기록된 역사적인 피사체는 현대적인 시각과 사진적 테크닉이 적용되면서 역설적으로 단순하게 재해석된 형태를 보여주고 있는데, 강진주는 이러한 행동적 순환을 역사의 긍정적인 '순환'(서클)이라 말하고 있다. 그는 한국의 중앙대학교 사진학과를 졸업하고 일본의 아마나 스튜디오에서 근무하였으며, 현재 서울에서 AO Studio를 운영 중 이다.
Photographer Jin Ju Kang is researching the theme series as ‘Circulation’. Her photograph includes the history of the subject and projection of the subject with modernistic perspective. Jin Ju Kang expresses the ‘history’ through skill calls “photograph” to variety of the media. Jin Ju Kang asserts that historical subject in modernistic perspective applies to a technique of the photographs. It shows basic paradox by reinterpretation with the historical subject and she call these moment as ‘Circulation’.
Jin Ju Kang majored photography at Chung-Ang University and worked at Amana Studio in Japan. Currently she is managing AO Studio in Seoul.
